The machine tool factory held a groundbreaking ceremony for its temporary production launch and selected the proposed gantry planer as its first product. Production commenced in February, with assembly and commissioning scheduled for mid-May. At that time, however, the factory was severely lacking in materials, tools, and technical documentation. Despite these harsh conditions, the workers fully demonstrated the tenacious fighting spirit characteristic of the Chinese working class and, in less than three months, produced Guizhou Province’s very first gantry planer—the simple B210K gantry planer.
