Deeply Cherished Dragon Boat Festival, Fragrant Zongzi Brings Joy—Guiyang Xianfeng Holds the 2024 “Our Festival: Dragon Boat Festival” Civilized Practice Thematic Event
2024-06-08
The fragrance of mugwort lingers, evoking deep feelings for the Dragon Boat Festival. As the traditional Chinese festival—the Dragon Boat Festival—approaches, in order to enhance the sense of identity and pride among all employees of Guiyang Xianfeng Machine Tool Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Guiyang Xianfeng”) toward China’s outstanding traditional culture, further enrich their spiritual and cultural lives, and enable all employees to fully savor the festive atmosphere of the Dragon Boat Festival, on the afternoon of June 7, Guiyang Xianfeng organized a “Warm Dragon Boat Festival, Joyful Zongzi” zongzi-making competition. The event was held by individual trade unions, with a total of seven participating teams.

Before the event began, union committee members and various sub-unions carefully prepared the ingredients needed for making zongzi, including glutinous rice, bamboo leaves, cured pork, marbled pork belly, and string. Under the guidance of the female employees, these ingredients were thoroughly washed and soaked in water.

At the event site, the aroma of zongzi leaves filled the air, and laughter and cheerful chatter echoed everywhere. The soaked glutinous rice and neatly arranged zongzi leaves were ready for the participants. Employees who came to join the activity showcased their skills: they formed a small funnel out of two zongzi leaves, carefully stuffed in an appropriate amount of glutinous rice, firmly packed it down, and then wrapped it tightly with string—all in one smooth motion. After more than an hour of hard work, over 300 zongzi of various shapes and sizes were proudly presented before everyone’s eyes.
This Dragon Boat Festival-themed event not only enabled employees to appreciate the cultural essence of China’s traditional festivals but also strengthened their sense of belonging and the company’s cohesion. Moving forward, the company’s trade union will continue to show care and concern for employees, acting as their “caring family” with genuine dedication and heartfelt attention, thereby contributing to the high-quality development of Guiyang Xianfeng.
